Walther PDP F-Series optic footprint: what red dots fit

Walther PDP F-Series

The Walther PDP F-Series mounts red dots through the PDP plate system rather than through a single footprint. Walther lists the optics cut on the standard and Pro F-Series models as a plate, so the plate in your optic's footprint bolts into the slide and the optic bolts to the plate. PDP 2.0 plates cover the Trijicon RMR and Holosun 507C pattern, the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, the Aimpoint ACRO, the Holosun 509T, and a K-Series plate for the Holosun 507K, 407K, EPS and EPS Carry, the Shield RMS and RMSc, and the SIG Romeo Zero. The F-Series changes trigger reach and slide-racking effort, not the optic pocket.

One F-Series model breaks that rule. The PDP F-Series Professional ACRO ships with a slide direct-milled for the Aimpoint ACRO P2 and the optic already mounted, so nothing goes under it and no other footprint mounts to it without a different slide. Every other F-Series model, standard and Pro, carries the plate cut. The second split is generation: Walther's PDP 1.0 and PDP 2.0 plates are separate lines, and a plate has to name the cut your slide has.

Walther PDP F-Series optic fitment FAQ

What optic footprint does the Walther PDP F-Series use?

Do I need an adapter plate to mount a red dot on the Walther PDP F-Series?

Yes, for almost every optic. The Walther PDP F-Series mounts red dots through a plate system, so you bolt the plate matching your optic's footprint into the slide and then bolt the optic to the plate. The exceptions are optics built for that pocket, such as the C&H Direct Mount Optic for Walther PDP 2.0, which mount with no plate. Plates are available for the Trijicon RMR / Holosun 507C, Shield RMSc / Holosun K, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, Aimpoint ACRO and Holosun 509T footprints.

Does the Holosun 507C X2 fit a Walther PDP F-Series?

Yes, on a plate. The Holosun 507C X2 is a Trijicon RMR / Holosun 507C footprint optic, so it mounts on the Walther PDP F-Series using a matching plate such as the Walther PDP Gen 2 RMR Optic Mounting Plate and Calculated Kinetics Walther PDP DOGTAG Optic Plate. Install the plate to the slide first, then the optic to the plate.

Does the Trijicon RMR Type 2 fit a Walther PDP F-Series?

Yes, on a plate. The Trijicon RMR Type 2 is a Trijicon RMR / Holosun 507C footprint optic, so it mounts on the Walther PDP F-Series using a matching plate such as the Walther PDP Gen 2 RMR Optic Mounting Plate and Calculated Kinetics Walther PDP DOGTAG Optic Plate. Install the plate to the slide first, then the optic to the plate.

Does the Holosun 507K X2 fit a Walther PDP F-Series?

Yes, on a plate. The Holosun 507K X2 is a Shield RMSc / Holosun K footprint optic, so it mounts on the Walther PDP F-Series using a matching plate such as the Walther PDP Gen 2 K-Series Optic Plate and Calculated Kinetics Walther PDP DOGTAG Optic Plate. Install the plate to the slide first, then the optic to the plate.

Does the Holosun EPS Carry fit a Walther PDP F-Series?

Yes, on a plate. The Holosun EPS Carry mounts on the Walther PDP F-Series using a matching plate such as the Walther PDP Gen 2 K-Series Optic Plate and Calculated Kinetics Walther PDP DOGTAG Optic Plate. Install the plate to the slide first, then the optic to the plate.

Is the PDP F-Series Professional ACRO the same cut as a standard F-Series?

No. Walther direct-mills the Professional ACRO slide for the Aimpoint ACRO P2 and ships the optic installed, which means no plate goes under it and no other footprint bolts to it. A standard or Pro F-Series has the plate cut instead, which Walther lists as an optics cut of plate. They are different slides, so a plate for one has nothing to bolt into on the other.

Do standard PDP optic plates fit the PDP F-Series?

Yes, within the generation. Walther's PDP 2.0 plates are specified for PDP, PDP F-Series and PDP Steel Frame slides carrying the 2.0 optic cut, so the RMR, ACRO, DeltaPoint Pro, 509T and K-Series plates all carry over to an F-Series. What does not carry over is a PDP 1.0 plate, which is a separate line cut for the older pocket.
