What the OZ DOOM XL Is
The OZ DOOM XL is a limited-run, long-slide ZEV OZ9 pistol in 9mm, co-branded with streetwear label WRMFZY and priced at $2,900 MSRP. ZEV announced it on October 27, 2026 as the sequel to the 2023 OZ DOOM, and its own campaign page calls it the third ZEV x WRMFZY collaboration. It sells only during a two-week order window.
The build starts on ZEV's OZ9 V2 long-slide platform and adds a launch-exclusive Gen 2 aluminum grip, a WRMFZY-branded slide, DLC finishes on the slide, frame, and barrel, and ZEV's Fulcrum Adjustable trigger. ZEV says the slide springs are tuned specifically for this configuration, so the gun is meant to run out of the case with no spring swaps. ZEV also says the R&D gun already has multiple competition wins.
- Platform: OZ9 V2 long slide, 9mm
- Slide: 17-4 stainless, black DLC, WRMFZY serrations, Trijicon RMR or Leupold DPP cut
- Barrel: ZEV optimized match grade, 416R stainless, black DLC
- Grip: 7075-T6 aluminum, FDE anodize, integrated magwell, increased palm swell, aggressive checkering
- Weights: Two tungsten weights that load from the top of the grip module
- Trigger: ZEV Fulcrum Adjustable, curved face
- Included: Two Glock magazines with FDE Doom Gypsy basepads, custom yellow Condition 1 case

How to Order and When It Ships
Orders run from October 31 through November 14, 2026, and only on the OZ DOOM XL page at ZEV Technologies. There is no dealer allocation in the announcement and no second run announced; orders close when the window does. You pick the RMR or DPP optic cut at checkout.
Expect a wait. ZEV estimates a 14-week lead time to ship once the order window closes, and the launch press release puts expected deliveries at March 1, 2027. As a serialized pistol, the XL ships to your FFL for transfer like any other ZEV complete gun.
Two details to plan around before ordering. The kit ships without an optic, so the real cost is $2,900 plus a red dot. And ZEV notes the DPP-cut version does not include an optic cut cover plate, so a DPP buyer who wants to run irons for a while needs to source a plate separately.
What Changed From the 2023 OZ DOOM
The XL trades the original's compact ported top end for a long slide and moves the performance work into the grip. ZEV built the 2023 OZ DOOM on its OZ9 Hypercomp, with a custom slide cut and the first aluminum grip ZEV had ever made for the OZ9. It was a limited run that ZEV has not reopened.
Where the original leaned on Hypercomp porting to keep the muzzle flat, the XL leans on mass and sight radius: a longer slide, a reworked Gen 2 aluminum grip with the magwell machined into it, and two tungsten weights. The trigger moves to ZEV's Fulcrum Adjustable, and the finish scheme goes from black-and-bronze to black DLC over FDE anodize.

The Grip, Weights, and Trigger
The Gen 2 grip is the headline part. It is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, anodized FDE, and carries an integrated magwell, increased palm swell, and aggressive checkering that ZEV says is there for grip and recoil control. Two tungsten weights feed in from the top of the grip module. Adding mass low in the gun is the standard competition answer to muzzle rise, and the release says the weights are there to pin the muzzle down through recoil.
The Fulcrum Adjustable trigger has two set screws that adjust pre-travel and over-travel. ZEV ships them at what it calls the most optimized setting and warns that adjusting outside those settings can create an unsafe condition, which it assumes no liability for. Treat the screws as a fine-tune, not a project.

What Comes in the Case
Each XL ships complete in a custom yellow ZEV/WRMFZY Condition One case with laser-cut foam. Inside: the exclusive OZ9 V2 long slide, the OZ9 aluminum grip, ZEV's optimized match grade barrel, the Fulcrum Adjustable curved-face trigger, and two Glock magazines with FDE Doom Gypsy basepads installed.
WRMFZY is also dropping co-branded ZEV x WRMFZY hoodies and shirts to order on wrmfzy.com starting October 31, for buyers who want the look without the $2,900 pistol.

Upgrading an OZ9 You Already Own
If you already run a V1 or V2 compact OZ9, ZEV sells the XL's key parts separately, and the grip plus slide come to $1,225 against $2,900 for the complete pistol. As of October 2026, ZEV lists four WRMFZY accessories:
- ZEV x WRMFZY Gen 2 Aluminum X Grip ($650): integrated magwell, increased palm swell, top-loading tungsten weights. Fits V1 and V2 compact modular build kits.
- WRMFZY V2 Long Slide ($575): V2 Elite long slide with WRMFZY serrations and an RMR cut. Fits V1 and V2 OZ9c modular build kits.
- Aluminum Glock Magazine Basepad ($85): FDE, Doom Gypsy on the front, adds five rounds to a 17-round 9mm Glock magazine. Magazine not included.
- V2 Pro Compensator, FDE ($125): Doom Gypsy on top, for 1/2x28 threaded barrels, with 13 lb and 15 lb recoil springs included.
The basepad is the cheapest way into the collaboration, and it is rated for 17-round 9mm Glock magazines rather than tied to the OZ9. Our Glock magazine extension guide covers how it stacks up against other +5 basepads.

Who Should Buy It
Buy the XL if you want a finished, match-ready long-slide OZ9 and the WRMFZY collaboration matters to you. At $2,900 you are paying a collector premium over the standard OZ9 V2 Elite Hypercomp at $1,899, and you wait until spring for delivery. If you want an OZ9 on the bench this month, the Hypercomp is the regular-production path, and its RMR cut takes the same optics.
For glass, the RMR cut covers the widest range of competition dots. We ran a Holosun 507COMP for 500 rounds on an OZ9 Hypercomp with no malfunctions, and the same RMR-footprint optic screws into the XL's RMR cut. Our competition pistol red dot guide ranks the rest of the field.
Against the wider premium market, the XL still costs less than a Staccato HD C4X at $3,499, and more than most factory striker-fired match guns. For how it compares to production match pistols, see our competition pistol rankings, or spec a build in the builder.
