Federal American Eagle is the training counterpart to Federal's premium HST defensive line. Manufactured at Federal's Anoka, Minnesota facility, American Eagle uses the same primers and quality control standards as Federal's duty ammunition, producing consistent velocities and reliable ignition across temperature extremes.

The 115-grain full metal jacket bullet delivers 1,180 fps from a standard 4" test barrel, producing moderate recoil that approximates the feel of most 115gr defensive loads. This makes it an ideal practice surrogate: you can train with American Eagle and carry Federal HST without significant point-of-impact shift. The brass cases are reloadable with Boxer primers, adding further value for handloaders.

Federal sells American Eagle in 50-round boxes, 100-round packs, and bulk cases depending on retailer inventory. Current 50-round-box pricing sits in the mid-30-cents-per-round range, while case pricing can move lower when sale inventory appears. The clean-burning powder formulation reduces fouling and extends cleaning intervals during extended range sessions.
