Overview

The V3 Assaulter Belt is built around a 12-layer Tegris core, which is the spec that decides whether a battle belt holds a loaded holster and four magazines where you put them or lets the whole rig roll and sag. Tegris is a thermoplastic composite laminate rather than stiffened nylon, so the belt resists folding under a cantilevered load without adding the thickness of an old-style duty rig. The outer belt is MOLLE-compatible across its length, with the number of usable columns scaling with belt size, so a holster, a double pistol pouch, two rifle mags, and a dump pouch all find a home.

Closure is a load-rated AustriAlpin Cobra buckle with an integrated D-ring, sized at 1.75 inches. The Cobra is the standard for this class because it carries a rated load without deforming and will not open while tension is on it, which is the safety property you want from a belt holding a holster. The D-ring gives a rated attachment point for a lanyard rather than a decorative loop. GBRS holds U.S. Patent No. 12,158,322 on the system.

The inner belt is the part worth understanding before you buy. It is reversible: hook on one face to lock the outer belt in place, and single-layer scuba webbing on the other. Flip it inside out and it works as a standalone non-metallic EDC belt, which means the belt you train in and the belt you wear through a courthouse door are the same piece of gear. Sizes run S through XL and are ordered off a measured waist rather than a pant size, so measure before ordering. Five colorways: Multicam, Multicam Black, Black, Coyote Brown, and Ranger Green. Designed, manufactured, and assembled in the United States, with a limited lifetime warranty.

Key Features

  • 12-layer Tegris core for load-bearing rigidity without duty-belt bulk
  • Load-rated AustriAlpin Cobra buckle, 1.75", with integrated D-ring
  • MOLLE-compatible outer belt; usable columns scale with belt size
  • Reversible inner belt: hook on one face, scuba webbing on the other
  • Inner belt flips inside out to serve as a non-metallic EDC belt
  • Four sizes (S to XL) ordered by measured waist, not pant size
  • Five colorways; made in USA with a limited lifetime warranty

Pros

  • +Tegris core keeps a loaded holster and mag pouches indexed under movement
  • +Load-rated AustriAlpin Cobra buckle will not open while under tension
  • +Reversible inner belt doubles as a non-metallic EDC belt
  • +Rated D-ring on the buckle rather than a decorative loop

Cons

  • Roughly $210, at the top of the battle-belt market
  • Sized S to XL by measured waist, so a wrong measurement means an exchange
  • Two-piece systems are slower to put on than a single EDC belt
  • The rigidity that makes it work also makes it uncomfortable to sit in for long drives
