Overview

The Viper HD is the pick most hunters should buy. It gives up little to binoculars costing twice as much: HD glass, a wide 341 ft field of view, a locking diopter that holds its setting, and a tripod-adaptable body for extended glassing. At roughly 25 oz it carries comfortably, the 17 mm eye relief works for eyeglass wearers, and the Vortex VIP warranty removes the resale-value anxiety of a boutique purchase. It is the binocular that makes the premium picks a want rather than a need.
