Bodyguard Armor
A soft-shell outerwear vest with two 10x12 Level 3A panels sewn into a concealed carrier, plus a breakaway-pocket draw path. Five pounds worn, and nothing about the silhouette reads as armor.
The Grayman is a soft-shell vest with armor built into it rather than a carrier you wear under a vest. The Level 3A configuration ships with two 10 by 12 inch soft armor panels covering the front and back inside what Bodyguard calls its Concealed Armor System. Worn weight is 5 lb with the panels in and 2 lb with them out, and the outer shell has no print pattern or paneling that reads as armor from across a parking lot.
Understand the protection ceiling before you buy. This is Level 3A soft armor, which covers handgun threats. Bodyguard links a Level 3A ballistic certificate from NTS testing dated January 15, 2021. There is no rifle protection here at all, and no hard plate pocket to add any. If your threat model includes a rifle, this is the wrong product category.
The other half of the design is the draw. Bodyguard builds in what it calls a Hidden Draw System with breakaway pockets, so a concealed handgun can be accessed through the vest's own pocket structure rather than by clearing the garment hem. That is the feature that separates this from a generic armored vest, and it is why the vest is cut as outerwear rather than as an undershirt panel carrier.
Sizing runs Small through 3X-Large, mapped to US jacket sizes 40 through 50. Bodyguard publishes no women's cut or women's-specific sizing for this vest. Construction is a 100% nylon outer shell with full polyester ripstop pockets, GSM150 polyester insulation, a nylon trim zipper, and a lined collar. The vest is water resistant, TSA compliant, and made in the USA under US Patent 12601568.
