The B5 Systems Type 23 P-Grip runs a 13-degree grip angle, the most vertical mainstream option on the market. For shooters who find even the K2's 17-degree angle too rearward, the Type 23 pulls the wrist almost straight and aligns the hand, wrist, and forearm for a natural pointing position. This is the grip angle that modern shooting doctrine has been moving toward, and B5 built a grip around it.
The extended tang rises higher than most beavertails, filling the gap between grip and receiver across a larger surface area. This improves purchase for the web of the hand and reduces felt recoil by distributing force across more contact area. Aggressive texture on all surfaces provides traction without rubber overmolding, keeping the weight at 2.2 ounces. The grip body accepts the B5 Systems grip plug (sold separately) for internal storage.
Made from mil-spec composite polymer, the Type 23 is a drop-in replacement for any AR-15 or AR-10 receiver. At $19, it undercuts most Magpul options while offering the steepest angle in the category. The trade-off is no rubber overmolding and fewer color options, but for shooters who prioritize grip angle above all else, the Type 23 is the answer.
