Magpul M-LOK Thumb Shelf

The Magpul M-LOK Thumb Shelf is a single-slot accessory designed around one specific problem: keeping the support-hand thumb in a repeatable position during rapid fire and barrier work. The ribbed, curved top surface gives the thumb a consistent reference point shot-to-shot, removing the guesswork of finding hand position under stress. With the thumb anchored on the shelf, the shooter can drive downward pressure into the muzzle to fight rise during sustained fire, which is the same technique that drove the original popularity of dedicated thumb rests on competition pistols.

The accessory consumes only one M-LOK slot, leaving the rest of the handguard available for lights, lasers, vertical grips, or pressure switches. The mounting interface is direct M-LOK with no adapter required, and the shape is ambidextrous so left-handed shooters get identical functionality without flipping the part. The shelf also works as a barricade brace point when shooting around vertical cover, giving the support hand a defined surface to load against rather than relying on slick handguard material.

Real-world use slots the Thumb Shelf between a true vertical foregrip and a minimalist hand stop. It does not function as a forward stop, but it provides the same kind of repeatable reference that a hand stop does, just for the thumb instead of the index finger. Shooters running C-clamp or modified C-clamp grips on M-LOK handguards are the primary audience. Compatibility is restricted to octagonal aluminum M-LOK handguards; round or polymer rails will not provide proper mounting contact.
