Mossberg Patriot LR Tactical

The Patriot LR Tactical is the cheapest way to get an AICS-fed, 20 MOA-railed, 5/8x24-threaded bolt gun with a chassis-style stock. Mossberg had MDT design the stock, so it keeps the shape of a traditional rifle stock while adding an aluminum V-block bedding surface, an M-LOK forend, adjustable comb height, and length-of-pull adjustment from 13.5 to 14.25 inches.

The 6.5 Creedmoor rifle runs a 22-inch medium bull barrel with a 1:8 twist, an 11-degree target crown, and 5/8x24 threads, feeding 10+1 from an AICS magazine. Weight is 8.8 lb bare and overall length is 42.25 inches, which is manageable for a rifle that shoots from a bipod but still travels.

Mossberg's patented LBA trigger adjusts from 2 to 7 lb, and the oversized trigger guard clears gloves. Mossberg calls the stock an MDT Field Stock chassis system, and the trade against a Howa HCR or an Axis II Precision is that the form factor is still a traditional stock: there is no ARCA dovetail, and the Patriot action has almost no precision aftermarket behind it.
