Wilson Combat Bullet Proof Ambi Thumb Safety

Wilson Combat's Bullet Proof line is their precision-fit billet steel parts for serious 1911 builds. The ambidextrous thumb safety solves the chronic wobble problem on cheap ambi safeties by using a tightly-fit billet right side lever that locks against the left side, eliminating the lateral play that causes some ambi setups to drag on the trigger or fail to engage. The tactical lever profile is the most-recommended option for duty and carry use; the wide lever is preferred by competition shooters for faster sweep-off.

Like most premium 1911 parts this is NOT drop-in. The right-side grip panel needs to be relieved for the lever and the safety pin must be fit to the frame, usually a 30-60 minute gunsmith bench job. Available in blued steel ($148) or stainless ($165). Single-side (right-handed only) variants exist at lower price points if you don't need ambidextrous operation.
