Overview

The S20 Hunter is Sako's answer to the question of what a $1,500 hunting rifle should be in 2026. Underneath the polymer Hunter stock is a CNC-machined aluminum chassis, the same core architecture as the S20 Precision. The Hunter skin gives a traditional sporter feel for carry, the chassis core gives the accuracy and bedding consistency of a precision rifle, and the user can swap to the Precision stock later without buying a new action.

The S20 ships with a 24-inch fluted stainless barrel, 5/8x24 threaded muzzle, a 5-round detachable Sako magazine, and an adjustable two-stage trigger that drops to about 2 pounds. Sako's chamber and barrel tolerances are tighter than most American factory bolt actions, which is why the rifle has a real sub-MOA reputation with match ammo. It is the premium pick for a hunter who wants European quality control without crossing into custom-action territory, and the only rifle in this tier that ships chambered in 6.5 PRC if you need more reach than 6.5 Creedmoor.
