Galloway Precision Performance Spring Kit (Ruger LCP MAX)

The Performance Spring Kit is the cheapest meaningful pull-weight reduction available for the Ruger LCP MAX. The factory hammer spring is rated at 10 lbs and the firing pin spring at 6 lbs, both biased toward absolute reliability with whatever ammo a pocket-carry shooter feeds the gun. Galloway swaps both for a 7 lb hammer spring and a 2 lb firing pin spring, then adds a stiffer trigger return spring to keep reset crisp. The result is a perceptibly lighter, smoother trigger pull without the sponginess that plagues most spring kits.

Galloway publishes a conservative 1 to 1.5 lb reduction depending on individual pistol tolerances, but customer-reported numbers are larger: one shooter measured 6.5 lbs down to 3.8 lbs, another 7.5 lbs down to 4.5 lbs. The kit pairs naturally with the Galloway Sigurd Max trigger; the trigger sharpens the wall and shortens pre-travel, the spring kit drops the weight. Together they are the closest the LCP MAX gets to a competition trigger feel without sending the gun out for custom work.

Reliability tradeoff is real but small. The 2 lb firing pin spring is sensitive to hard-primer ammunition. Galloway recommends quality factory defensive loads (Federal HST, Hornady Critical Defense, Speer Gold Dot) and warns against bulk steel-cased or Eastern European range ammo, which can exhibit light strikes. After the swap, run a 100-round function check with whatever load is going in the carry magazine before trusting the gun for daily carry. Install is moderate difficulty; Galloway publishes a YouTube video walking through hammer pin removal, which is the only step that requires patience.
