Riton 3 Tactix 3X Magnifier

The 3 Tactix 3X Magnifier's headline number is not its magnification, it is what is in the box. Most magnifiers in this price band quote an optic-only price and leave you to buy a flip mount for another $100 to $200. Riton ships the flip-away QD mount and an optional spacer with the magnifier at $279.99, which is what makes the total mounted cost competitive rather than the sticker.

The mount flips the body to the right side of the receiver at the push of a button, and Riton designed the release for one-handed operation so the firing hand stays on the grip. Push the magnifier back over and it catches in the base. Optically it runs a 22 mm objective, 2.75 inches of eye relief, a 6 mm exit pupil, and 36.7 feet of field of view at 100 yards, with parallax fixed at 100 yards.

Durability claims are specific rather than vague: 6061-T6 aluminum, argon purged and sealed rather than nitrogen, and shock tested to 1,000 Gs. At 7.9 oz and 2.72 inches long it is heavier than a micro magnifier like the Primary Arms SLx 3X but shorter than most full-size 3x bodies. The magnifier falls under Riton's lifetime warranty rather than the two-year electro-optics term, since it carries no electronics.
