Overview

The SM-23 is Arsenal's second-generation side-rail scope mount and the replacement for the discontinued SM-13. It is machined from a single piece of aircraft-grade aluminum and hard anodized, and its 19-slot Picatinny rail runs more than 7.5 inches, enough for an optic plus a magnifier or a scope placed for eye relief.

A steel adjustable locking mechanism with a tension-adjustable quick release clamps it to the side rail, and Arsenal states it keeps zero after removal and reinstallation. A relief cut along the rail keeps the iron sights usable. Front lightening cuts and a revised back that slides into place more easily are what let it fit VEPR rifles, including RPKs.
