Norotos
The USGI-issue NVG lowering arm. Bayonet/horn or dovetail interface variants, frequently found new for $125-200 or surplus for under $100. The cheapest reliable mount on a real ACH/MICH or USGI 3-hole shroud.
The Norotos Rhino II is the budget reliable NVG mount. It is the lowering arm USGI ACH and MICH helmets shipped with for years, available both new (commercial production continues) and as USGI surplus. New prices run $125-326 depending on interface variant and retailer; surplus units in good condition appear regularly in the $50-100 range on the secondary market.
Two interface variants exist: bayonet/horn for older PVS-7 and PVS-15 devices, and dovetail for the current PVS-14 and PVS-31A. Pick the one that matches your goggle. The Rhino II mounts to USGI 3-hole shrouds (the standard interface on ACH/MICH/PASGT) and through adapters can mount to VAS shrouds on FAST/EXFIL/Caiman helmets, though VAS-shroud users are usually better served by the Wilcox G24 or Norotos TATM purpose-built for that interface.
The Rhino II is not breakaway. Under heavy impact it loads the dovetail interface and the user's neck more than a Wilcox G24 would. For training, range use, and casual NVG mounting where the threat model is comfort and reliability rather than dynamic combat, the Rhino II is the cheapest path to a working setup. For serious tactical use where the cost of a destroyed PVS-14 or a neck injury outweighs the price delta, upgrade to the G24.
