ELCAN SpecterDR 1-4x

The ELCAN SpecterDR is the world's first true dual field of view combat optic. A throw lever switches between genuine 1x and genuine 4x magnification with no intermediate zoom, no distortion, and no change in eye relief. This is not an LPVO that happens to have a 1x setting; the 1x view is optically flat with both-eyes-open capability comparable to a red dot, while the 4x provides a crisp magnified image with ballistic compensation.

The SpecterDR was designed for exactly the kind of role-switching the IAR demands. At 1x, the illuminated reticle provides fast target acquisition during suppressive fire strings. Switch to 4x for positive target identification and precision engagement between suppression tasks. The 5.56 NATO reticle is calibrated for M855 from a 16" barrel with BDC holdovers for rapid range compensation. The illumination system offers seven brightness settings covering full daylight to low light.

The construction is overbuilt by design. The housing is machined from a single aluminum billet, the lenses are hard-coated, and the integrated A.R.M.S. Picatinny mount eliminates the need for a separate mounting solution. At 24 oz, the SpecterDR is heavier than an EOTech EXPS3 + G33 combination (~20 oz), but you gain an additional 1x of magnification and eliminate the risk of a magnifier coming loose under sustained recoil.
