The NSPEC Innovations M&P 2.0 Forced Reset System replaces the factory slide backplate with a stainless steel part that mechanically drives the trigger forward as the slide cycles. The pistol stays semi-automatic: every round requires a separate trigger function. NSPEC offers it in SLM 316 stainless steel, polished or black, and in CNC machined 303 stainless steel, gold or black. The listed weight is 0.8 oz, and the part measures 1.5 by 0.4 by 0.8 inches.
Fitment covers non-select-fire M&P 2.0 pistols in 9mm, 10mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP, including Full-Size, Compact, Subcompact, Metal Frame, Performance Center, and Thumb Safety and non-Thumb Safety models. It does not fit the M&P 1.0, Shield, SD, FPC, or Bodyguard, or a pistol fitted with an Apex Forward Set Sear Actuator. Installation uses basic tools with no permanent gunsmithing. NSPEC recommends a 4 lb striker spring for reset, notes that slightly rounding one edge of the trigger bar may smooth cycling on some hand-fitted setups, and says .45 ACP and 10mm pistols typically run best with 22 to 24 lb recoil springs when a heavier spring is needed. A small gap between the slide and the device may remain after installation, which NSPEC states does not affect function.
