Overview

The Browning 1911-380 is the easiest-shooting .380 on the market. The 85% scale 1911 frame uses a composite shell with 7075 aluminum subframe and slide rails, keeping common full-size variants around 18 oz while absorbing .380 ACP recoil so effectively that the gun feels closer to a .22 LR than a defensive caliber. The 4.25-inch barrel is among the longest in the class, providing excellent sight radius and velocity for the cartridge. 8+1 capacity leads all 1911-pattern .380s.

This is a range gun that happens to be carry-capable, not a pocket pistol. At 7.5 inches overall and 18 oz, pocket carry is not practical. IWB holster carry is comfortable for most body types. The single-action trigger breaks cleanly at approximately 4.5 lbs. For shooters with recoil sensitivity or anyone who wants a .380 that is genuinely pleasant to shoot for extended sessions, the Browning 1911-380 is the clear choice.
