Overview

The Echelon 4.0C Comp is Springfield's first compensated variant of the Echelon platform, scaled down from the 4.5F duty frame to a Glock 19-class compact and fitted with a one-piece barrel that incorporates an integrated compensator. The comp adds no length to the slide envelope, so Echelon 4.0C holsters generally fit without modification. The 4-inch barrel keeps overall length at 7.5 inches, between a Glock 19 and a Glock 17.

The Variable Interface System (VIS) carries over from the full-size Echelon and mounts most micro red dots directly to the slide with no adapter plate. Trijicon RMR, RMR HD, and SRO; Holosun 407C, 507C, and 508T; the Holosun EPS Carry; Leupold DeltaPoint Pro; and Shield RMSc footprints all seat directly. The larger Holosun 509T and Aimpoint ACRO footprints mount through a thin C&H Precision or Springfield adapter plate. The serialized Central Operating Group (COG) chassis also carries over, so the grip module swaps to small or large without an FFL transfer.

At $748 street ($749 MSRP), the Echelon 4.0C Comp undercuts the SIG P365 X-Macro Comp by roughly $130 while offering a larger grip, full-length rail, more capacity, and the no-plate optic mounting. For shooters who want a duty-grade compensated carry pistol with maximum optic compatibility, the 4.0C Comp is the strongest argument against the P320 X-Carry and Glock 19X comp variants.
