Swampfox
Budget closed-emitter pistol red dot that ships with both RMR and Glock MOS plates
+24 more
The Swampfox Kraken is the value entry in the closed-emitter pistol optic category, undercutting the Holosun 509T X2 and Trijicon RCR by more than $150 while delivering the same sealed-housing durability. The two-tube body fully encloses the LED emitter, eliminating the lint, sweat, and debris intrusion that ends the service life of open-emitter optics like the RMR and 507C on carry guns.
The reticle is a 3 MOA dot, available in red (KRK0016-3R) or green (KRK0016-3G), with 8 daylight and 2 night-vision brightness settings. Power comes from a CR2032 with Swampfox's Shake N' Wake motion activation. Adjustments are 1 MOA per click across a 90 MOA range. At 2.4 oz with battery, the Kraken is heavier than slim RMSc micros but in line with other enclosed RMR-class optics.
The Kraken's proprietary footprint ships with both an RMR adapter plate and a Glock MOS plate in the box, plus an adjustment wrench, four screw sets, and blue threadlocker. That dual-plate kit means it drops onto RMR-cut and Glock MOS slides out of the box without a separate plate purchase, a cost advantage that matters most at this price point. Swampfox backs it with a lifetime warranty.
