GBRS Group Second Best Sling

At 2.7 ounces the Second Best Sling is roughly half the weight of a padded Vickers or an MS4, and it gets there by leaving metal out of the base configuration. The forward lead and the tail each run through a single triglide, so there is no quick-adjust ladder lock, no metal tab, and nothing to clatter against a rifle when you move. The tradeoff is that adjustment is a deliberate pull rather than a snatch on a tab.

Travel is the standout number: GBRS publishes 40 inches on the forward lead plus a 20 inch adjustable tail. That is enough to go from a tight patrol carry to a slung transition to weak side without rethreading anything. The four inch double fold-over pull tab has removable center bar tacks, so a shooter who prefers a thumb loop can pick out the tacks and convert it rather than buy a different sling. The 16 inch pad uses closed cell crosslink padding under four-way stretch Tweave, which is thin enough that it does not fight a plate carrier or a chest rig.

Read the configuration carefully before ordering. The base sling at this price is webbing, pad, and triglides; it does not ship with QD swivels. GBRS sells a bundle that adds two push-button QD swivels rated to 450 pounds and a 2-to-1 triglide for converting between two-point and one-point. If your rifle has QD sockets and no spare swivels in a drawer, the bundle is the version you actually want.
