Sage International
The aluminum Enhanced Battle Rifle chassis that turns an M1A into a modular, rail-laden precision platform; the chassis the U.S. military fielded as the Mk 14 EBR.
The Sage EBR is the chassis that made the modern M1A. When the U.S. military needed to extend the service life of its M14 inventory, it dropped the rifles into Sage International's aluminum Enhanced Battle Rifle chassis to create the Mk 14 EBR. The civilian M14ALCS is that same design: a 6061-T6 aircraft-aluminum chassis that the M1A barreled action bolts into, transforming a wood-stocked battle rifle into a rail-equipped, fully adjustable modern precision platform.
The chassis presents a continuous top Picatinny rail for optics and night vision, with Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny rails at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock forend positions for bipods, lights, and lasers, behind a removable Kydex forend with a palm swell. The stock telescopes for length of pull, carries an adjustable cheek rest to align the eye behind a magnified optic, and folds on the configurations that support it for transport. Because the action is rigidly captured in aluminum, the EBR also stabilizes the rifle's harmonics, which is why it is a favorite base for accurized M1A builds.
It is expensive and heavy, and installation is more involved than dropping in an Archangel. But nothing else delivers the EBR's combination of military pedigree, aluminum rigidity, and modularity. For a shooter committed to a serious DMR-style or precision M1A, the Sage is the chassis the platform was waiting for.
