Burn Proof Gear
DuPont Kevlar ripstop outer with fiberglass-and-silica inner. Combat-proven, Dead-Air-co-branded, and the hardest-use rifle cover with lifetime warranty.
Burn Proof Gear came out of the SOF community in Virginia Beach and the Heavy is their flagship. The construction is the differentiator: the outer is DuPont Kevlar in a diamond-weave ripstop (rated to 1000°F), and the inner is a fiberglass mesh laminated to a silica heat shield (rated to 2000°F). Retention is two-piece, a front cinch and a rear cinch, so the cover stays put under both recoil and brass deflection.
BPG publishes a real round count: roughly 180 rounds of M855 before the cover reaches its maximum temperature on a 14.5" or 16" host. They ask the user to let it cool when it's too hot to touch before resuming. That's a more realistic spec than most covers on the market, which dodge the question entirely. Dead Air sells the same cover in their store with co-branding, which is unusual — most suppressor manufacturers stay out of cover endorsement entirely.
For a hard-use carbine, a fighting rifle, or a duty AR that gets run hot, this is the cover that comes back on PR review most often. The lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects, not heat damage from running it past spec.
