Overview

Burn Proof Gear came out of the SOF community in Virginia Beach and the Heavy is their flagship. The Heavy uses a Kevlar fabric outer rated to 1000°F over replaceable high-temp inner sleeving rated to 2000°F. Retention is two-piece, a front cinch and a rear cinch, so the cover stays put under both recoil and brass deflection.

BPG publishes a real use envelope instead of pretending any soft cover is magic: semi-auto and full-auto capable, with a cooldown point around 90 rapid rounds of 5.56. They ask the user to let the cover cool when it is too hot to touch before resuming. That's a more realistic spec than most covers on the market, which dodge the question entirely.

For a hard-use carbine, a fighting rifle, or a duty AR that gets run hot, this is the cover that comes back on PR review most often. The lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects, not heat damage from running it past spec.
