Cole-TAC
Kevlar / Nomex / carbon-fiber core rated to 3150°F. Cole-TAC's purpose-built answer for full-auto and sustained-fire AR work.
When Cole-TAC tells HTP buyers to upgrade for sustained-fire AR work, the Corset is where they get sent. The construction stack is fundamentally different from the HTP: Kevlar outer shell, Nomex middle layer, and a carbon-fiber inner contact layer, rated as a system to 3150°F. That's the highest verified max-temp rating of any cover on this list.
Retention drops the BOA strap system in favor of a Kevlar "corset" cinch cord that runs the length of the cover. The visual is exactly what it sounds like — a laced cinch — and Cole-TAC's reasoning is that the cord won't melt or fail the way plastic strap hardware can on a can running 1000°F+ surface temps. The trade-off is convenience: lacing takes longer than clicking a BOA dial, and re-tightening after recoil seating happens more often.
Custom-sized per can, with a minimum 2.5" length and 1" diameter. Two-to-three-week lead time on most orders. If your 5.56 rifle runs full-auto, registered or otherwise, or you shoot sustained semi-auto strings that have already failed an HTP, this is the cover that's built for that envelope.
