The Advanced Reset Technology Ruger 10/22 Active Reset Basic Kit is an active-reset conversion, not a replacement trigger group. It adds reset levers to a Ruger OEM or BX trigger pack. The cycling bolt drives the trigger back into reset, and the firearm still fires one round per trigger pull. It belongs to the forced-reset class of devices even though Advanced Reset Technology calls it an active reset kit, which is why it does not turn up in searches for a 10/22 FRT.
The kit includes two stainless steel active reset levers, ten practice active reset levers, an extra-power hammer spring, an extra-power recoil spring, a recoil spring spacer, and a nylon bolt buffer pin. The practice levers let the installer learn the fit before shaping the two stainless levers. Light shaping may be needed because 10/22 receivers, bolts, and trigger housings vary.
This kit keeps the factory or BX trigger pack instead of replacing it. The Mars Trigger Ruger 10/22 Adjustable FRT is a complete drop-in assembly with adjustable reset distance and pull weight. The NSPEC Innovations 10/22 FRT is a 316 stainless hand-fit part with no reset adjustment and requires a metal trigger shoe. The Advanced Reset Technology kit takes a third approach by pairing fitment-practice levers with two stainless levers and enhanced hammer and recoil springs.
