Ruger
Two-piece breakdown 10/22; 18.5-inch barrel separates from receiver for backpack-friendly transport.
0-10 Scale Across 8 Axes
The Ruger 10/22 Takedown splits the receiver from the barrel and forend with a single button push. Reassembly is a quarter-turn twist, and the adjustable headspace lever lets the user tune the lock-up tension to maintain zero across breakdowns. Most owners report sub-MOA shift across hundreds of cycles when the lever is properly set.
The Takedown is the answer when a 10/22 needs to live in a backpack or pilot's bag. The Magpul X-22 Backpacker stock turns the package into a self-contained survival rifle that fits inside a daypack with magazines and ammunition stored in the buttstock. For aviation, hunting, and overland use cases the Takedown displaces dedicated survival rifles like the Henry AR-7 because of the deeper aftermarket and far better trigger options.
Internally the Takedown is a standard 10/22, so all BX magazines, drop-in triggers, and bolt assemblies fit. Aftermarket .920 bull barrels are produced in Takedown-specific lengths by Volquartsen and Tactical Solutions for owners who want a heavier suppressor host.
