Overview

The TriggerTech SIG MCX Two-Stage Adaptable trigger is the most-adjustable aftermarket MCX trigger on the market and the right pick for shooters who want to dial in their own pull weight rather than accept Geissele's fixed 4.5 lb or Timney-style single-stage breakovers. Pull weight adjusts in 2-ounce increments between 2.5 and 5.0 pounds via a set screw that the user can reach with the trigger installed in the lower, so you can move from a 4.5 lb duty pull to a 2.5 lb match pull in seconds without removing the trigger group.

The "Frictionless Release" technology TriggerTech is known for replaces the typical sliding sear-on-hammer engagement with a precision-machined roller that creates a near-zero-creep break and a sub-0.015" tactical reset. Internals are hardened 440C stainless steel housed in a 7075 aluminum chassis with a high-performance flat-wire hammer spring tuned for reliable ignition across the MCX bolt cycling envelope.

Available in two configurations at the same price: a flat (straight) bow for shooters who want the more positive feel under a high grip, and a curved bow for shooters who want a closer match to the factory MCX feel. Both use the standard 0.154" small-pin spec. The trigger is competition-derived (TriggerTech's Diamond and Primary lines built TriggerTech's reputation in benchrest and 3-gun) so the adjustability and break quality bias toward match-grade use; for pure duty rotation the Geissele Super MCX SSA is the more conservative pick.

Key Features

  • Adjustable 2.5 to 5.0 lb pull weight in 2-oz increments
  • User-adjustable via set screw with trigger installed
  • Frictionless Release technology for near-zero-creep break
  • Sub-0.015 inch tactical reset
  • Hardened 440C stainless internals in 7075 aluminum housing
  • Choice of flat or curved trigger bow
  • Standard 0.154 inch small-pin compatibility

Pros

  • +Most-adjustable aftermarket MCX trigger by a wide margin
  • +Frictionless Release breakover feel rivals dedicated match triggers
  • +MCX-specific design tuned for piston cycling, not a re-skinned AR trigger
  • +Drop-in install with no fitting or gunsmithing
  • +TriggerTech lifetime warranty

Cons

  • Premium $260 pricing, the most expensive of the three MCX trigger options
  • Match-derived feel may be too light for duty rotation when set below 3.5 lb
  • Aluminum housing is lighter but less rugged than Geissele tool-steel construction
  • Adjustable design adds a wear component compared to fixed-weight competitors
