Best Kel-Tec KSG Accessories 2026: Optics, Lights, Slings & Recoil Upgrades

Buy the safety and sighting upgrades before the nice-to-haves. Here is the order that fixes the KSG's real limitations first.

The best optic for the KSG is an enclosed-emitter red dot on the top rail. The Holosun AEMS Core X2 is the pick because the sealed housing keeps the dot clear under the recoil impulse and ejected debris a pump shotgun throws at the optic, exactly the condition that fouls an open-emitter sight inside a session. An open dot like a 510C-class sight is fine on a clean direct-impingement AR, but a recoiling shotgun is the wrong host for an exposed emitter.

Mount the light on the bottom rail so it stays clear of a top-rail optic, and solve the muzzle-side hand problem at the same time. The Midwest Industries KSG Light Mount with Handstop is the KSG-specific answer: one aluminum part clamps to the bottom rail, adds M-LOK slots for the light, and machines in a forward handstop that keeps the support hand behind the muzzle on this short bullpup. If you want a positive grip instead of a handstop, the Magpul MOE RVG clamps straight to the bottom Picatinny rail with no M-LOK adapter and runs under $25. It and the Midwest mount compete for the same rail space, so pick the handstop-plus-light combo for a defensive setup or the vertical grip for a recreational one, rather than running both.

The factory KSG has no sling socket, so the sling fix starts at the mounting point, not the strap. The KNS Precision KSG takedown pin is a drop-in replacement for the factory pin with an integrated push-button QD socket, which gives the gun a rear sling anchor with no gunsmithing and still works as the takedown pin. Recoil is the other fixed-stock problem. The KSG stock cannot accept a replacement buttpad, so the standard fix is a slip-on pad. The KSG runs the SilencerCo Salvo 12 shotgun suppressor through the KSG-specific Salvo 12 choke mount adapter (AC1347). The adapter's improved-cylinder profile keeps defensive buckshot patterns open while the can is mounted, and the adapter itself is a normal accessory with no paperwork of its own.

The Salvo 12 suppressor is the NFA item, not the adapter. It requires a Form 4 transfer, fingerprints, a background check, and NFA registration. The federal transfer tax on suppressors is currently zero and eForm approvals are running days to a couple of weeks, but the registration and background-check steps still apply, and suppressor ownership is legal in 42 states.
