The MAC 5K is the alternate compact base package at $1,329, with two magazines and the same paddle-plus-button release arrangement as the full-size MAC 5.

Do not collapse every short MP5-pattern pistol into “K size.” A 5.8-inch intermediate compact is not the same configuration as a 4.6-inch flush-muzzle K model. That one-inch-plus barrel difference changes the front end, and it can change the handguard, mount, and end-cap choices that fit. Shop by exact host and barrel format, not by the letter at the end of a model name.

Buy the PTR 9CT when the optic and handguard setup should be part of the firearm from the start. Its 4.5-inch steel Picatinny top rail provides a factory mounting surface, and its aluminum M-LOK handguard accepts direct-mount accessories. The trade is visual and physical: steel over the receiver and aluminum around the barrel move away from the smooth classic profile.

The ZF-5 Premium Package is the middle path. Its detachable Picatinny rail is included, so the optic path is already defined, but the classic polymer handguard remains. Do not assume a shared MP5 outline proves parts interchange. A handguard, optic rail, end cap, or other part can be specific to a full-size, 5.8-inch intermediate compact, or 4.6-inch K host. Require the part maker to name the exact firearm and format.
