Best Taurus G3C Optic Plates & Red Dot Mounts 2026

The Taurus G3C TORO mounts every red dot through an adapter plate, and non-TORO G3 slides need a dovetail mount. Here are the plates and mounts ranked by footprint, material, and price.

Best Taurus G3C Optic Plates & Red Dot Mounts 2026

Putting a red dot on a Taurus G3C comes down to one fork: a TORO slide mounts the optic through a factory adapter plate, and a standard non-TORO slide needs a dovetail mount that replaces the rear sight. The G3C TORO has no native milled optic cut. Every dot, RMR, micro, or enclosed, seats on one of the factory four plates or an aftermarket plate that drops into the same pocket. The factory kit covers the RMR, Vortex Venom, C-More, and DeltaPoint Pro footprints for $49.99, and C&H Precision fills the three gaps the factory set leaves open: the Holosun 407K/507K and RMSc micro footprint ($79.99), the enclosed Holosun EPS ($79.99), and the Holosun 509T on a steel body ($67.49). For a non-TORO G3C, the OuterImpact MRA, EGW, Galloway, and ADE dovetail mounts get you onto a dot without slide milling. Our best pistol red dot guide ranks the dots that mount on these plates, and the best enclosed-emitter pistol red dots guide covers the EPS and 509T optics that pair with the dedicated C&H plates. We ranked the ten plates and mounts below by footprint, material, and price.

How the Taurus G3C TORO Plate System Works

The G3C TORO is a plate-for-everything design. Taurus mills a universal pocket into the slide and bridges it to the optic footprint with an adapter plate rather than cutting the slide for one specific dot. That is the opposite of a direct-mount pistol like a Glock MOS, which exposes a fixed footprint. On the G3C TORO there is no RMSc cut, no RMR cut, no native footprint at all until you bolt a plate into the pocket. The upside is flexibility: the same slide takes a micro, a full-size RMR, or an enclosed emitter as long as the right plate exists. The downside is that you cannot skip the plate, and a lost or wrong plate means no optic.

The pistol ships with the factory four-plate kit, and that kit covers four footprints: Plate #1 for the Vortex Venom and Burris FastFire, Plate #2 for the Trijicon RMR and Holosun 507C, Plate #3 for the C-More STS2, and Plate #4 for the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro. The kit leaves three popular footprints uncovered, and that is where C&H Precision comes in: the micro Holosun 407K/507K and Trijicon RMSc, the enclosed Holosun EPS, and the enclosed Holosun 509T. Pick the footprint your optic uses first, then buy the plate that matches it. The best Holosun optics guide breaks down which K, 507C, EPS, and 509T dots pair with each of these plates.

TORO Pocket Plates for the Optics-Ready G3C

These five plates drop into the factory TORO pocket on a G3c TORO or G3 TORO slide. The GX4 TORO and GX4XL TORO are a separate system: their slides are cut directly for RMSc-class micro dots (Shield RMSc, Holosun 407K/507K) and do not use these pocket plates. The factory kit and the single RMR/507C plate cover the four footprints Taurus ships from the box, and the three C&H Precision plates add the micro, EPS, and 509T footprints the factory set skips. C&H machines the 407K/507K and RMSc lug patterns onto a single plate, so the same micro plate works whether your dot is a Holosun K (two recoil lugs) or a Trijicon RMSc (four lugs). The 509T plate steps up to steel because the enclosed 509T is heavier and runs harder under recoil.

Match Your Optic to the Right G3C TORO Plate

Each TORO plate is cut for one optic footprint family. Find your optic, then buy the plate that matches it. The factory column tells you whether the plate already shipped in your G3C TORO box or whether you need an aftermarket plate.

One footprint trap catches G3C buyers. The compact Holosun K and Shield RMSc footprints share screw spacing but differ in recoil-lug geometry: the K has two lugs, the RMSc has four. The C&H Precision micro plate machines both patterns, so it accepts either, but confirm your specific micro dot against the plate's listed footprints rather than assuming any small dot drops on.

Dovetail Red Dot Mounts for Non-TORO Slides

If you own a standard G3C with no optic cut, a dovetail mount is the path to a red dot without paying for slide milling. Each of these mounts bolts into the rear-sight dovetail and presents an optic footprint, so the optic sits where the rear sight used to be. The OuterImpact MRA is the most robust of the group: a 7075-T6 billet on a steel dovetail base that fits a wide range of full-size optics and the non-optic-cut G3C, G3X, G3XL, GX4, and GX4XL slides. The EGW RMR mount ($44.99) is the cheapest path to an RMR/507C optic, the EGW K/DPP mount ($49.99) adds the Holosun K and DeltaPoint Pro footprints, the Galloway Precision plate ($32.50) covers both RMR and micro optics on one mount, and the ADE plate ($23.49) is the cheapest mount overall. The EGW mounts fit the old-style G3 rear-sight dovetail, not a TORO slide or a Glock-style cut.

The shared tradeoff is iron sights: every dovetail mount here replaces the rear sight, so a dead battery leaves you with no rear sight at all. If iron-sight backup matters and you have not bought the gun yet, a factory G3C TORO is the cleaner answer because the TORO slide keeps its own sights and adds the plate pocket. The dovetail mounts also sit taller than a TORO pocket plate, which raises the optic above the bore line.

Aluminum, Steel, or Factory: Which Plate Material

Aluminum is the right call for most G3C shooters; steel is the pick for the heavy enclosed 509T. C&H Precision's aluminum plates (6061 with Type III hard anodize) carry the micro 407K/507K/RMSc and the enclosed EPS footprints and seat the optic flush at a light weight. The C&H 509T plate uses a steel body because the enclosed 509T is heavier and shears harder against an aluminum plate under sustained fire. The factory Taurus plates are softer than either C&H option but cost a fraction as much, and they cover four footprints between the kit and the single RMR/507C plate. On the dovetail side, the OuterImpact steel base resists recoil shear better than the 7075 and aircraft-aluminum mounts from EGW, Galloway, and ADE.

Which Taurus Models These Plates and Mounts Fit

The TORO pocket plates fit the G3c TORO and G3 TORO slides that use the factory plate system. The dovetail mounts fit the non-optic-cut slides on the G3c, G3X, G3XL, GX4, and GX4XL, with Galloway and OuterImpact explicitly listing the small-frame Taurus lineup. None of the dovetail mounts belong on a TORO slide, because a TORO slide already has the milled pocket and a dovetail mount would ignore it. For the broader upgrade picture, our Taurus G3 upgrades guide covers sights, holsters, lights, and magazines alongside the optic path, and the CZ P-10C optic plates guide applies the same footprint-first method to another plate-system pistol. Use our pistol builder to see how a G3C optic setup fits the rest of your loadout.

Frequently Asked Questions

What optics will fit on a Taurus G3C?
On a G3C TORO, optics mount through the factory four-plate adapter system: Plate #2 fits the Trijicon RMR and Holosun 407C/507C, Plate #4 fits the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, Plate #1 fits the Vortex Venom and Burris FastFire, and Plate #3 fits the C-More STS2. Aftermarket C&H Precision plates add the Holosun 407K/507K/RMSc micro footprint ($79.99), the enclosed Holosun EPS ($79.99), and the Holosun 509T ($67.49). A standard non-TORO G3C needs a dovetail mount like the EGW RMR mount or the OuterImpact MRA instead.
Does the Taurus G3C TORO need an adapter plate?
Yes. The G3C TORO has no native direct-mount cut, so every red dot mounts through one of the adapter plates. The pistol ships with the factory four-plate kit (also sold separately for $49.99), and C&H Precision makes aftermarket plates for the micro (407K/507K/RMSc), EPS, and 509T footprints. Match the plate to your optic's footprint before buying.
Can you put a red dot on a non-optic-ready Taurus G3C?
Yes, with a dovetail mount that replaces the rear sight, no slide milling required. The EGW RMR mount ($44.99) adds the RMR/507C footprint, the EGW K/DPP mount ($49.99) adds the Holosun K and DeltaPoint Pro footprints, the Galloway Precision plate ($32.50) covers both RMR and micro optics, and the OuterImpact MRA ($59.95) uses a steel base that fits a wide range of full-size optics. The tradeoff is that all of these replace the rear iron sight.
What is the cheapest way to mount a red dot on a Taurus G3C?
For a TORO slide, individual factory plates are $19.99 each (Plate #2 carries the RMR/507C footprint) and the full four-plate kit is $49.99. For a non-TORO slide, the ADE Advanced Optics dovetail plate is the cheapest path at $23.49, presenting the RMR/507C footprint. A single $19.99 factory plate is the cheapest route overall, as long as your slide is a TORO.

The Verdict

On a G3C TORO, the factory four-plate kit ($49.99, or $19.99 per single plate) is the value default for the RMR, Venom, C-More, and DPP footprints; add the C&H Precision RMSc/K plate ($79.99) for a micro dot or the C&H 509T steel plate ($67.49) for an enclosed emitter. On a non-TORO slide, the OuterImpact MRA ($59.95) is the durable dovetail pick and the ADE plate ($23.49) is the cheapest.

For a Taurus G3C, the deciding question is whether your slide is a TORO. A TORO slide takes pocket plates: start with the factory four-plate kit ($49.99) if your optic runs the RMR, Venom, C-More, or DeltaPoint Pro footprint, step up to the C&H Precision RMSc/Holosun K plate ($79.99) for a micro carry dot, or the C&H 509T steel plate ($67.49) for the enclosed 509T. A standard non-TORO slide takes a dovetail mount: the OuterImpact MRA ($59.95) for a steel base under a full-size optic, or the ADE plate ($23.49) for the cheapest path to an RMR-footprint dot. Match the plate to your optic's footprint, then plan the rest of the build with our pistol red dot guide and the enclosed-emitter pistol red dots guide.
