Where Critical Duty is built for duty-size guns and barrier penetration, Critical Defense is optimized for the specific threat profile of civilian concealed carry: close-range encounters through light clothing.

In Lucky Gunner's gel testing, the 115gr FTX achieved 13.06 inches of penetration with 0.504 inches of expansion. The Flex Tip polymer insert prevents the hollow point from clogging with clothing fibers, ensuring reliable expansion even through heavy denim. The 115-grain bullet weight at 1,142 fps provides manageable recoil for rapid follow-up shots from small, lightweight carry pistols.

Critical Defense fills a specific niche: shooters carrying subcompact pistols (P365, G43, Hellcat) who need reliable expansion from short barrels with minimal recoil.
