Overview

Nosler Trophy Grade 165gr AccuBond is the benchmark premium bonded .308 hunting load, effectively a modernized Partition with a polymer tip and a higher ballistic coefficient. Nosler's bonding process welds the pure-copper jacket to a lead core, and the white polymer tip initiates rapid, controlled expansion while improving BC. The result is a hunting bullet that expands reliably at any velocity from 1,800 to 3,200 fps while retaining 65-70% of bullet weight, the sweet spot between the 85-95% of Fusion and the 100% of TTSX.

Performance runs 2,800 fps from a 24-inch barrel with 2,874 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. G1 BC of 0.475 is higher than Fusion's 0.395 but below ELD-X's 0.552, placing AccuBond in the middle of the BC hierarchy, which is where many hunters prefer it: high enough for 400-500 yard shots on deer, conservative enough that wind estimation errors do not compound into misses at realistic hunting distances. Factory rifles commonly produce sub-MOA groups with Trophy Grade, and Nosler's QC is tight enough that standard deviations run in the low teens.

The case for AccuBond over ELD-X, Terminal Ascent, or TTSX comes down to versatility. ELD-X is better for pure long-range hunting, Terminal Ascent is better for elk and heavier game, TTSX is required where lead is banned. AccuBond is the default when none of those specific conditions apply, the load that kills any North American big game animal short of brown bear cleanly at any practical hunting distance. At $1.90-2.50 per round it sits below TTSX and Terminal Ascent while outperforming the cup-and-core budget hunting loads by a wide margin.
