Overview

The M4 Flat is the flap Crye built from the front of the JPC and CPC: three magazine cells sewn flat to the flap face with shock-cord loops over the top instead of the closed-top pouches of the standard M4 Flap. On a JPC 2.0 it restores the slick three-mag front the JPC 1.0 had sewn in, and it is the flap most retailers list under the JPC 2.0 rather than the AVS.

Crye's spec sheet lists attachment to the front platebag of the AVS in Standard and MBAV configurations, and the flap interface is shared by the JPC 2.0 and AirLite SPC. It rides the same hook-and-loop field as the MOLLE flap, so swapping between a bare MOLLE front and a loaded three-mag front takes seconds.

Against the closed-top M4 Flap the trade is retention for bulk: shock cord holds a magazine through movement but does not cover the feed lips, while the closed-top flap seals the mag and costs more depth and money.
