Overview
The AO is the cheapest way onto a real MOLLE chest rig from a US manufacturer with a lifetime warranty. Three rows by eight columns of PALS across the front is a lot of usable frontage at $88, and because it is open MOLLE rather than a proprietary placard cut, any pouch already in your drawer mounts to it.
Two details separate it from a generic import rig. The front panel has side openings that turn the space behind the PALS into a flat document pocket, which is where a map, a range card or a target folds away instead of riding loose. And the back is a hook fastener panel, so the rig mounts to the loop field on many plate carriers when you want the same pouch layout on armor.
A carry handle sewn into the top is the last piece: it makes the rig a grab-and-go item off a peg or out of a vehicle rather than something you have to gather up by the straps. Made in the USA, Berry Amendment compliant, and available in six colorways including LE Blue.
