Velocity Systems
The SOF-influenced classic that defined the minimalist chest rig category. Carries four 5.56 mags, two pistol mags, two small radios, and includes a map pocket without breaking the low-profile silhouette.
The Velocity Systems UW Chest Rig Gen IV — universally known as the Mayflower — is the rig that defined what a modern minimalist closed-front chest rig should look like. Designed with SOF input in the late 2000s, the Mayflower stripped MOLLE rigs of their unnecessary real estate and built around a fixed pouch layout that handles 90% of real loadouts: four 5.56 mags, two pistol mags, two small radios, a map pocket, and two GP pockets.
The Gen IV is the current production version. Construction is Berry-compliant US manufacture in 500D Cordura with ITW-Nexus 1-inch side release buckles. The standard H-Harness is included; the optional ULTRAcomp 2-inch and 3-inch H-Harnesses are sold separately for buyers who want a thinner or wider harness. The fixed pouch layout means no insert flexibility — but the trade-off is a rig that needs nothing else out of the box to function.
Velocity Systems sells the UW Chest Rig direct only to military, government, and law enforcement customers. Civilian buyers typically route through retailers such as Brownells or specialty tactical-gear shops. Velocity-direct lead times can differ from retailer stock status, so check the selected color before assuming immediate availability.
The Pusher variant adds two extended utility pockets for medium radios or larger items. The Gen V Split Front (a separate SKU) introduces a front-opening zipper for prone work and faster don/doff.
