Hodgdon describes it as an extruded propellant in the Extreme series that has been modernized by shortening the grains for improved metering and making it insensitive to hot and cold temperatures, and says that for magnums with light to moderate weight bullets it cannot be beat. The cartridges Hodgdon names are the WSM family in 270, 7mm, 30 and 325, plus .243 Winchester, 6mm Remington, .270 Winchester and .338 Winchester Magnum. It sits at 133 on Hodgdon's 2024 relative burn rate chart, meaningfully slower than Varget at 113, which is what suits it to mid-size cases pushing heavy-for-caliber bullets. Its reputation among 6.5 Creedmoor shooters is worth stating carefully: H4350 is where most 6.5 Creedmoor handloaders start and it is heavily represented in published recipes, but Hodgdon's own product description does not name that cartridge, so treat the pairing as established practice rather than a manufacturer recommendation and pull your data from Hodgdon's load tables.
