Magpul
Configurable grip kit with three interchangeable front and back straps to dial in size and shape
The Magpul MIAD Gen 1.1 (Mission Adaptable) is the configurable answer in the Magpul grip family. Where the MOE and K2 ship as fixed shapes, the MIAD ships as a kit: three interchangeable front straps and three interchangeable back straps that swap with a single tool, letting one grip cover thin to thick hands, smooth to aggressive texture, and short to long trigger reach without buying multiple grips.
The grip body uses the same 25-degree A2-equivalent angle as the MOE, with a beavertail that fills the gap to the receiver and trigger guard. Internal storage is integrated through the Magpul storage core system, with the MIAD accepting all three core variants (CR123, AA/AAA, or bolt and firing pin) for compact spare-parts or battery storage. The Gen 1.1 update tightened the inserts and improved retention over the original MIAD, and the kit includes multiple front and back straps in the box.
At around $36 through OpticsPlanet, the MIAD costs more than a fixed-shape MOE because you are paying for the modularity. The use cases that justify the premium are shared rifles across multiple shooters with different hand sizes, range rifles where you want to test grip shape before committing, and serious bench-or-truck guns where small parts storage matters. If you know exactly what grip shape fits you and never share the rifle, the fixed-shape MOE or K2 is a better value.
