30x30 stack with an ICM42688P-equipped F722 board and a 65 A AM32 four-in-one ESC rated to 8S.
The stack is the quad's brain and its muscle bolted together: a flight controller board that reads the gyro and decides what each motor should do, and a four-in-one ESC underneath that switches the current to make it happen. Buying them as a matched stack removes the two things that go wrong when you mix and match, mounting pattern and connector pinout.
On the flight controller side this is an STM32F722 running Betaflight with an ICM42688P gyro, which is the current mainstream sensor and noticeably cleaner than the older MPU6000 on cheap boards. A BMP280 barometer, an AT7456E OSD chip for the analog overlay, six UARTs for receiver, VTX control, GPS, and telemetry, and 16 MB of onboard flash for blackbox logging. That flash matters more than it sounds: blackbox is how you diagnose a bad tune instead of guessing, and boards without it force you to add an SD card slot you may not have.
The ESC is the reason to buy this particular stack. It is rated 65 A continuous and 80 A burst across 2-8S on AM32 open-source firmware, which is real headroom for XING2 2207 motors that peak near 35 A each on 6S. AM32 also gets you bidirectional DShot for RPM filtering, which is the single largest improvement available to a modern Betaflight tune. Regulation is 3.3V/1A, 5V/3A, and 12V/3A, so a camera on 5 V and an analog VTX on 12 V both have a clean supply without a separate regulator.
