BCM MK2 Recoil Mitigation System (Mod 1)

The BCM MK2 Recoil Mitigation System is Bravo Company's answer to the harsh, fast cycling of a standard carbine buffer setup. Rather than dropping a heavier buffer into an existing carbine tube, the MK2 is a complete system built around its own receiver extension that runs roughly three-quarters of an inch longer than a carbine tube. That extra length lets BCM run a mil-spec M16A4 rifle-length spring with more coils than an M4 carbine spring, which spreads the spring force over a longer stroke for a more consistent carrier velocity and a noticeably smoother impulse.

The system ships in three buffer weights: the T0 at 3.8 ounces, the T1 at 4.7 ounces, and the T2 at 5.6 ounces. The buffer body is 7075-T6 aluminum, hard-coat anodized, and the design increases internal counterweight travel with an internal spring that quiets the counterweight shift and reduces bolt bounce. The result is a recoil system that behaves like a rifle-length setup in a package that still fits a collapsible stock, putting it in the same conceptual family as the VLTOR A5 rather than a simple carbine buffer.

Because the MK2 extension is longer than carbine, some mil-spec stocks may not fully collapse all the way to the lock nut, so verify stock fitment before committing. For builders chasing the flattest, most consistent cycling without going to an adjustable gas block, the MK2 is one of the cleanest off-the-shelf intermediate-length options available, and the three-tier weight system covers everything from a soft-shooting 16 inch carbine to a suppressed short barrel.
