Battle Arms Development
Swiss-machined AR-15 pivot and takedown pins with low-profile high-grip heads and a magnetic detent install channel.
The Battle Arms Development BAD-EPS Enhanced Pin Set is the most thought-through pin set on this list. The heads are deliberately low profile so they will not snag on gear, but Battle Arms machines a patent-pending grip pattern into them so they still give more purchase and pull strength than a flush mil-spec pin without resorting to a big protruding knob. Both pin tips carry a cone-shaped recess that captures a bullet tip or tool so it cannot slip off and gouge the receiver.
The standout feature is the EZ Guide Channel with magnetic assist. The pivot pin is the single most frustrating part to install on an AR-15 because the detent and spring launch across the room the instant they slip. Battle Arms cuts a guide channel and seats a neodymium magnet that holds the detent in place during install, which turns the worst job in an AR build into a controlled one. The pins are Swiss CNC-machined from case-hardened steel and finished in mil-spec black manganese phosphate.
Choose the BAD-EPS when you want the best blend of grip, snag-free profile, and a genuinely easier install, and you do not need the weight savings of titanium. Battle Arms also offers Grade 5 titanium versions near $49.95 for builders chasing every gram. Note the enhanced pivot pin does not fit the Radian AX556 receiver, though the takedown pin does.
