The longer HBI buffer shortens the bolt's rearward travel, and the included +20% recoil spring compensates for the reduced spring load. The combination lightens recoil impulse, speeds reset, and, most importantly, closes the gap that lets a live round or spent case drop behind the buffer in the factory configuration, a documented Kuna malfunction that has bricked guns mid-string.
HBI cautions that reliability is only guaranteed with factory or HBI fire control components; pairing this buffer kit with a Nexus AR-FCG lower has produced mixed results in user testing. On factory-FCG Kunas this is a buy-first upgrade.
