Hogue
Drop-on rubber overmolded grip wrap with finger grooves for the Ruger Mark IV 22/45 polymer frame.
The Hogue OverMolded Rubber Grip is the cheapest meaningful grip upgrade for any Mark IV 22/45 owner. The factory 22/45 grip frame is a slick polymer surface with no finger grooves and minimal texturing — a wet hand or a long range session will both expose the limitation. The Hogue 79080 wraps the existing frame in a one-piece overmolded rubber compound with integrated finger grooves, dramatically improving control without changing the underlying frame.
Frame fitment matters. The 79080 fits the Mark IV 22/45 polymer-frame variants only: 22/45, 22/45 Lite, and 22/45 Tactical. The steel-frame standard Mark IV (Target, Hunter, Competition, Lite) uses two-piece grip panels and gets a different Hogue product (the Mark IV grip panels) plus alternatives from Volquartsen and Pachmayr. Always confirm frame before ordering.
Install is drop-on, takes five minutes, and uses the factory grip screws — no new hardware required. Rubber outlasts polymer under sweat and weather. The grip adds a slight increase to grip circumference, which is a feature for shooters with medium-to-large hands and a non-issue for most. Not in the OpticsPlanet AWIN feed; order direct from Hogue or via Brownells / MidwayUSA.
