Ranger Point Precision
Black-nitride steel medium-loop replacement lever for straight-grip Marlins, the upgrade that clears gloved hands and gives faster, smoother cycling on a .45-70.
Ranger Point Precision is the name most serious Marlin owners associate with lever loops, and this straight-grip version is the drop-in that solves the factory lever's two real shortcomings: too little knuckle clearance and a stroke that drags. It is machined from 4140 steel alloy and black-nitride coated for a smooth, scratch-resistant finish that matches a blued or stainless gun without standing out.
The medium-loop profile is the practical sweet spot. It opens up enough room to cycle the action with gloves in cold weather or with the bigger grip a hard-kicking .45-70 invites, but it does not balloon into the oversized "movie loop" that snags on gear and slows you down. The added leverage and clearance translate directly into faster, surer follow-up shots, which is the entire point on a dangerous-game lever.
Installation is genuinely a few-minute job: you reuse the factory plunger, spring, and pin, and the lever drops in. It fits straight-grip Marlins including the 336, 308/338, 444, 450M, and the 1895 .45-70, built 1950 or newer. Because many lever guns are factory hand-fit, a small number may need light fitting by a gunsmith.
