Ruger Mini-14 10-Round Magazine (.223/5.56)

Mag-capacity bans in California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, and Vermont put 10 rounds at the legal ceiling for many Mini-14 owners. The factory Ruger 10-round magazine (part 90339) is the compliant option that does not gamble on aftermarket reliability. Steel body, stainless spring, and the same rock-and-lock magwell engagement as the 20 and 30-round factory mags.

Pro Mag and Tapco sell cheaper 10-round Mini-14 mags, and they are widely reported to feed-lip spread, bind in the magwell, or fail to lock the bolt back on the last round. The price gap (roughly $34 versus $47) is not worth the failure risk on a defensive or compliance gun. Factory Ruger 10-rounders run reliably out of the box and last as long as the rifle.

For owners in states where the Mini-14 is one of the few non-AR semi-auto rifles still available without registration or feature-locked configurations, this is the only 10-round magazine to buy. Stock four to six and treat them like the daily-use mags they are.
