Taran Tactical
Billet aluminum base pad that adds one round and a hard-anodized bumper to the factory Glock 42 .380 magazine.
The Taran Tactical +1 base pad is the aluminum range alternative to the Pearce polymer extension for the Glock 42. It replaces the factory floorplate with a CNC-machined billet aluminum body that extends magazine capacity from 6 to 7 rounds and adds a hard-anodized bumper to speed reloads and protect the floorplate from impact damage.
Installation uses Loctite-set screws to lock the base pad to the OEM magazine body. The current Taran Tactical listing identifies this as a +1 Glock 42 .380 OEM magazine base pad, not a +2 extension. Multiple anodized colors are offered, with pricing varying slightly by finish.
The trade-off is cost. It does not beat the Pearce extension on capacity, but the aluminum body gives range shooters a tougher reload surface and more color options. For deep concealment, the Pearce +1 remains the simpler carry-first part.
Add the Taran Tactical +1 Base Pad (Glock 42) to your build and see how it enhances your platform.
