EOTech HHS UNITY I (HHS1 FTCU)

The HHS UNITY I is EOTech's EXPS3-0 and G33 3x magnifier sold as one part number with Unity Tactical hardware in place of EOTech's own mounts. The sight sits on a Unity FAST Optic Riser and the magnifier rides a FAST FTC OMNI mount, putting both on a 2.26 inch optical centerline rather than the co-witness height the standard HHS ships at. EOTech lists it at $1,599 in black (HHS1 FTCU-BLK) and tan (HHS1 FTCU-TAN).

The height is the point. A 2.26 inch sight line is the number the night vision and plate carrier crowd settled on, because it lets the shooter stay upright behind the gun with a helmet, mask, or PVS-14 in the way rather than mashing a cheek into the stock. Getting the standard HHS to that height means buying the riser and the taller magnifier mount separately on top of the sight.

The FTC OMNI mount is the other departure. EOTech's Switch-to-Side mount swings the G33 out to the right of the receiver, where it hangs past the rail and catches slings, gear, and door frames. Flip-to-center drops the magnifier straight down below the sight line and inside the receiver's footprint, so the 1x sight picture is clear and nothing is sticking off the side of the gun. The tradeoff is weight: the riser and the FTC mechanism put the complete system at 26.3 oz, heavier than the same sight and magnifier on EOTech's own Switch-to-Side hardware.

Everything optical is unchanged from the parts EOTech already sells. The EXPS3-0 projects a 68 MOA ring with a 1 MOA dot, holds 20 daylight and 10 night vision brightness settings, runs a single CR123 for a rated 1,000 hours, adjusts in 0.5 MOA clicks, and is submersible to 33 feet. The G33 gives 3x with 2.2 inches of eye relief. Because the reticle is holographic, the 1 MOA dot stays 1 MOA under magnification instead of blooming the way a magnified red dot does.
