Vector Optics
Compact 4x prism with an etched 5.56 BDC reticle and piggyback-dot mounting surface

+25 more
The Vector Optics Paragon 4x24 gives a carbine a fixed four-power sight picture without the length and moving zoom assembly of an LPVO. Its etched VEPS-MBR reticle combines a 1 MOA center dot, illuminated ring, and .223 BDC. The reticle remains visible without battery power, which also makes a prism easier to use for many shooters with astigmatism.
At 3.2 inches long and 8.8 ounces without the mount, the Paragon leaves rail space for backup sights. A top mounting surface accepts a compatible micro dot for a separate close-range sighting plane. Ten red illumination levels help the center ring stand out when ambient light changes.
The main tradeoff is eye position. Its 2.65 inches of eye relief requires a more deliberate head position than a red dot, and fixed 4x is slower inside a room unless a piggyback dot is installed. The .223 BDC is also load-dependent, so confirm actual impacts instead of treating the marks as universal yardages.
