Vortex AMG 1-10x24 FFP

The Vortex AMG 1-10x24 FFP is the halo product of Vortex's American-made AMG line and, at 8.4 inches and 18.8 ounces, the shortest and lightest first focal plane 1-10x LPVO the company has shipped. It is engineered, machined, and assembled in the USA, drawing on the optical and mechanical work Vortex did for its 2022 Army Next Generation Squad Weapon fire control selection. The compact envelope came directly from special operations requirements for a scope that delivers true 10x reach without the length and mass of a Razor HD Gen III.

The optical stack is apochromatic with XR Plus anti-reflective coatings and an ArmorTek scratch-resistant exterior layer. The glass-etched, illuminated EBR-9 MRAD reticle sits in the first focal plane, so its subtensions and ranging marks hold true at every magnification, and the 11-position illumination (nine daylight plus two night-vision settings) makes the center usable as a close-quarters aiming point at 1x. Parallax is fixed at 250 yards, the eyebox is built around a 3.3 inch eye relief, and the field of view runs 116 feet at 1x down to 12 feet at 10x measured at 100 yards.

Mechanically the AMG rides a 34mm aircraft-grade aluminum tube with toolless capped turrets that click in 0.1 MRAD increments, 10 MRAD per rotation, and 30 MRAD of total elevation and windage travel. A dual-zero turret lets you store and snap between two zeroes, and a low-profile 120-degree throw lever speeds the trip across the magnification range. The scope is argon purged and O-ring sealed for waterproof, fogproof, shockproof service, runs on a single CR2032, and carries Vortex's unlimited lifetime VIP warranty. The catch is price: at $6,399.99 MSRP and roughly $3,999 street, it is the most expensive production LPVO on the market.
