Vortex Defender-CCW Enclosed Solar

The Vortex Defender-CCW Enclosed Solar is Vortex's answer to the Holosun EPS Carry in the closed-emitter sub-compact pistol optic tier. It pairs a closed emitter housing with a solar panel and CR1632 backup battery, delivering up to 150,000 hours of runtime when the solar panel can supplement the battery and 35,000 hours on the battery alone.

The reticle is a multi-reticle system: a 3 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, or both combined, switchable with a button press. It uses the dominant Shield RMSc footprint for sub-compact pistols, with cross-compatibility on Holosun EPS Carry, SIG P365X / P365 XL, Springfield Hellcat OSP, Glock 43X MOS, Glock 48 MOS, and aftermarket sub-compact slides.

The closed emitter housing solves the open-emitter weakness of the Romeo Zero Elite and Holosun 407K class of carry optics. At a $300 street price (MSRP $399.99), it sits between the polymer Romeo Zero Elite ($230) and the metal-housing Holosun SCS Carry ($360).
