Overview

The Holosun 507C X3 is the third generation of Holosun's most popular full-size pistol optic, announced at SHOT Show 2026. The headline upgrade is a forward-facing light sensor that reads brightness at the target rather than from ambient light behind the shooter. This solves the biggest complaint about auto-brightness on pistol dots: the reticle dimming when transitioning from bright exteriors into dark interiors. The X3 sensor reads what you're aiming at, keeping the dot visible against the actual background.

Lens geometry has been refined with improved coatings that reduce the green tint present in X2 units. The 0.91 x 0.67-inch window retains the same dimensions but delivers noticeably clearer glass, particularly at high brightness settings where the X2 could show diffraction artifacts. The Multi-Reticle System carries over with the same 2 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle, or combined reticle, but the circle has been tightened from the previous generation for faster acquisition without obscuring targets at distance.

The X3 is available in red, green, and gold reticle colors from launch. The side-loading CR1632 battery delivers up to 50,000 hours of runtime, backed by Solar Failsafe for dead-battery insurance. The RMR footprint maintains compatibility with the vast majority of optic-ready slides and aftermarket cuts. At $353, the X3 carries a modest premium over the outgoing X2 while delivering meaningful improvements to the auto-brightness system and glass quality.

Key Features
